Certification FAQ
Is there any difference between the proctored and Web-based CERTIFICATION examinations?
The only difference between the proctored exam and the Web-based exam is the convenience in how the exam is administered.
Web-based exam:
Once you are ready to take the CERTIFICATION exam, an e-mail will be sent to you with your username, password and a link to the CERTIFICATION Web-based exam. The Web-based exam can be taken from any computer with an Internet connection, but keep in mind that this is a timed exam. You will want to take the exam during a timeframe in which you will not be interrupted.
Proctored exam:
During the application process you will designate a proctor for your exam. A sealed copy of the exam will be sent directly to the person designated as your proctor. The proctor may be someone who is already certified or a person from your organization who is senior to you and is willing to affirm that you complied with exam procedures.
Both exams consist of the same number of questions for which you are allowed four hours to complete.
Will my employer and/or supervisor be notified of whether I pass or fail the examination?
Caucus will release test results to you immediately upon completion of each exam. Caucus will only forward your test results to a third party if you provide written consent and include the name and address of the third party.
How many times can I retake the CERTIFICATION exam? Is there a fee?
You can retake the exams 3 times at no additional charge. Beyond this, there is a fee associated with retaking the Certification examinations. If you are unsuccessful on the Certification examinations after four consecutive attempts, you may retake the examination again after a thirty-day waiting period. The testing fee for each of these retakes is $150 for members and $225 for nonmembers.
Is the information I provide on the application and my examination scores kept confidential?
Yes. Caucus treats all personal information as confidential. Caucus will not distribute your personal information or examination scores to any third party without your written consent.
Whom should I contact if I have additional questions?
You can contact the Director of Certification by telephone at 1-407-740-5600.

Points for renewal must be earned within three years of the date appearing on your certification, or from the date of your last renewal, whichever is applicable. You will also need to submit a completed Certification renewal form. Click here to review a detailed description of point values.
My certification has expired. What do I do now?
You have two options once your certification has expired. They are as follows:
